Meet-the-Editors Session

RWTH Aachen University will host a Meet-the-Editors session with Thierry Foucault and Stefan Nagel. The session presents an opportunity for attendees to engage in a discussion with two of the leading figures in finance academia, focusing on current research trends. Participants will also have the chance to gain insights into the publication process and explore strategies to enhance their academic work to adhere to the highest standards. 

Thierry Foucault

We are excited to announce that Thierry Foucault, the HEC Foundation Chaired Professor of Finance at HEC Paris, will be joining us for the upcoming Meet-the-Editors session. Currently serving as the Co-editor of the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, he also has held editorial positions at the Review of Finance and the Review of Asset Pricing Studies and serves as Associated Editor at the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Economic Theory. Thierry has published well over twenty papers in top-tier finance and economics journals. He has received numerous awards, not only for his scientific achievements but also for his outstanding commitment to the finance community, such as the “Referee of the Year Award” by the Review of Financial Studies. His research focuses on the determinants of financial markets' liquidity and informativeness, the industrial organization of these markets, and their impact on the real economy. He recently received an ERC grant to study the effects of big data and AI on the production of information in financial markets. Beyond his contributions to research, Thierry is actively involved in scientific committees of various financial institutions. 

Stefan Nagel

We proudly announce that Stefan Nagel will deliver the keynote speech. Stefan Nagel is the Fama Family Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research and CESIfo. Before joining the University of Chicago in 2017, Professor Nagel taught at the University of Michigan, Stanford University, and Harvard University. He served as the Executive Editor of the Journal of Finance from 2016 to 2022 and as an Editor of the Review of Financial Studies from 2014 to 2015. He has published more than two dozen papers in the world's leading finance and economics journals and has been awarded numerous prizes, such as the Fama/DFA Best Paper Prize. His research focuses on asset pricing, investor behavior, and the risk-taking of financial intermediaries.
